Art for Art’s Sake takes over New Orleans Magazine Street (10/3)

More than 30,000 art lovers tourist and locals alike  are expected to fill up the warehouse district tonight.
“Art for Arts’ Sake is an annual tradition that opens the city’s exciting art season,” the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation describes on its website.

In the Warehouse District, art lovers can gallery hop along the sidewalks of Julia Street. Cash bars will be located outside many galleries.

The Contemporary Arts Center will host a free exhibition reception from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will feature a cash bar, free entry to the center’s current exhibition and the grand opening of The Stacks at the CAC.

Organizers encourage attendees to dress casual to chic and wear comfortable walking shoes. Galleries will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
