NOLA Filmmaker/Photographer recently traveled to New York for a series of photo shoots. The first released is “Brooklyn (Bedford–Stuyvesant)”, a photo/film series featuring model/actor Ziy Santana and shot in the Bedford–Stuyvesant (Bed-Sty) neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. “Bed-Sty is where Biggie was from. I was blown away just to be in the area he represented. Ziy showed me around the neighborhood on a foggy Sunday night, and explained how Biggie was like a mayor of Bed-Sty” said Jonathan Isaac Jackson. “We also talked a lot about the gentrification of the neighborhood, which was a running conversation with people I met for New York. All in all, I was humbled by the scope of the neighborhood and the city”. Along on the trip was fellow NOLA filmmaker Phil Will, who documented some of the trip with “New York Jackson + Billie Holiday”.
