Concepts x ASICS Gel Lyte V “Blow”

East Coast sneaker boutique Concepts stay true to their name, unveiling another heavily-conceptualized footwear collaboration with ASICS. While there is no official statement on the Gel Lyte V‘s inspiration, if we were to hazard a guess then we would say it draws from Ted Demme’s 2001 drug trafficking classic Blow, whose protagonist George Jung (aka “Boston George”) just so happened to hail from Concepts’ home state of Massachusetts. An all-white premium suede upper is accompanied by hits of 3M, a blood-red paneled midsole and some particularly gruesome insoles, making for another extremely wearable addition to the store’s illustrious history of witty footwear collaborations.

Finished off with 3M-detailed laces (which come in a special vial, not that we’re implying this shoe is inspired by a film about drug trafficking), the sneaker drops January 30 at Concepts’ webstore and retail locations.
