A very successful eMline Weekend hosted by brand owner and designer James Mayes took place in New Orleans this past Father’s Day weekend. Great attendance and participation for all 5 events that took course over a 4-day span starting Thursday Night with a Q&A Mixture featuring owner James speaking on the creation of his brand and ending Sunday evening with The Garden Day Party as James toasted with his friends and family a great fun celebratory weekend in the books for eMline in the city of New Orleans.
#ForTheCity is the slogan for eMline brand, and that slogan and mind state was evident throughout every event. The Pop Up event entitled “the project” showcased an elaborate replica of the front porch of the Magnolia Projects in which a young James spent his childhood. Many influential people and supporters visited Crescent City Boxing Gym on Erarto (uptown New Orleans) to get a glimpse of the place and purchase new merchandise from eMline. This was the first ever Pop Up shop James has done to showcase his brand, it was heavy populated with customers and admirers of his pieces on display.
Saturday was very eventful with two events to brighten up the gloomy rainy day in New Orleans, people rushed out of the rain and into Warren Easton gym located on Canal Street. James a alumni of Warren Easton presented a 2nd annual eMline Harwood Classic games in which two teams filled with local celebrities and social figures took the court to showdown Yellow team vs. Black Team. It was plenty of fun for attendees more importantly the children in attendance got to see some guys make a playful fool of themselves missing easy lay-ups and plenty of funny turnovers. Eventually the game came down to Overtime with the Black Team featuring James himself as leading scorer defeated Maxx Pain (34 Points) and the Yellow team for the championship trophy!
After the game later that night James and eMline brand hosted a kickback Saturday Night at new popular out-door bar Culture Park in the St. Roch neighborhood, the night was filled with laughter, drinks and various games. James was seen most of the night engaging in one his favorite pass times playing cards while others, danced, talked, and played darts or connect-four. Saturday was all day eMline for the city of New Orleans as it began to trend locally on Twitter and Instagram.
The finale was Sunday Father’s Day 2019 many of the loyal eMline supporters showed up to celebrate the end of a great weekend with James. The who’s who of the city was out and about including in attendance Lenoard Fournette at The Revolution on Oretha Castle Hailey to toast to eMline being a staple brand in the city of New Orleans. The Garden Day Party was filled with many people sporting a signature eMline shirt or Magnolia flower hat to pay homage to the designer and his presence of providing a great weekend of upscale fun with a splash of hood events throughout the entire weekend. After a attending all of this; only thing MyhellofalifeTV has to say is we look forward to next year and see how this can be topped!
