Jay Z is never short of a few corks to pop, but he’s just made a move that’ll guarantee the bubbles stay flowing for years to come after he purchased luxury champagne brand Armand de Brignac. Jay’s love for the indulgent “Ace Of Spades” label – which retails at $300 a bottle and can fetch as much as $200,000 for a magnum – has been well publicised, so it’s no great surprise to find him putting his money where his mouth is. While the exact purchase price is unconfirmed, according to Yvonne Lardner, global director of brand communications for Sovereign Brands (Armand de Brignac’s former owners), Mr. Carter “made them an offer they couldn’t refuse”. We don’t think that’s actually as sinister as it sounds, but we’ll raise our glass to the man just in case…
