Songstress Lana Del Rey‘s new single “Shades of Cool” from the recently released Ultraviolence plays like a missing track from Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of The Great Gatsby. Shadowy vocals run parallel to an over exposed world of muted colors as Del Rey navigates her licentious West Egg dreamscape — and it works as update to the roaring 20s motif.
