Mario “Yoey” Martin of Myhellofalife.Com got a chance to holler at Mook for a quick Q&A speaking on his many endeavors. Check it all out below..

Yoey: How did the relationship between you and Dj Raj Smoove begin to create the “Secret Society” events?

Mook: Well I met Raj 12 years ago when I was interning at 104.5. We begin working together short after that. Raw Dizzy, Kourtney Heart n helping brand his own career as a world known DJ. That’s my guy.

Yoey: For those who haven’t been lucky enough to attend “Secret Society” can you describe the usual atmosphere of the event?

Mook: The secret Society party came along 3yrs ago when we realized that our night life offer the consumer pretty much a routine outing. Long lines, super strict dress code, same top 40 songs being played n same venues that you see every other week. We just wanted to raise the bar. High end location, special intimate invite, music from 3 decades to now and surrounded you with Guest that have similar mind frames ( if that makes sense). No flyers, no radio promo. Just a text/email the day before. If you know than you know.

Yoey: With your WeMajor Management team you currently have 3 artist in particular you focusing in on, (Xeno Moonflower , DJ AllyBea n producer T Nasty) can you tell us what each one brings to the table from your own words?

Mook: Yes the 3 artist that are represented by us are super special to me. First off I’m not a industry slut, meaning I don’t work with a lot of people just to say I do. You have to be special.
Xeno Moonflower is one of the most talented artist I’ve ever seen. He’s a RnB soul artist that plays many different Instruments with an amazing voice and a pen to go along with it. His hunger for success and his love for his art is something you can’t teach so right there I know half my work is done. You can’t teach passion. He just released a single “All Night Long” that’s charting really well on all music streams.

DJ AllyBea is the perfect definition of “ Trust the process”. Our relationship goes back 10 years. She’s always been a fly on the wall when it came to DJing. Surrounding herself with many dope DJs and taking in all the knowledge that was in front of her. Just in one year under the company she has blossom. From maybe 2 to 3 gigs a month, she’s now at 2 to 3 gigs a week and sometimes more. She’s also still raw and learning but a big student of the music culture so she’s getting better by the day.

T Nasty (producer)
Is like a ghost. Many never see him but he’s been around. He has done ghost production on many different artists that WeMajor has work with in the past. 2018 is his come out year due to the high volume of work and traffic coming our way.

Yoey: You recently opened up a recording studio here in New Orleans, WeMajor recording studio can you tell us what’s your vision for doing this?

Mook: WeMajorStudios is a private studio for artist to create at. It’s also my office for consultation sessions I have with creators. It’s a beautiful space with one studio because I feel a artist should be with just his/her vibes when creating. I’m from Kenner Louisiana so putting the Studio there meant a lot to me. It’s in a high end area and walking distance to the beautiful River. We record music, radio commercials and Podcasts. To know me is to know quality is definitely presented there.

Yoey: As a person with tone of experiences in the music industry, What do you feel about current music scene here in New Orleans?

Mook: The current Music in New Orleans is bittersweet. We have some of the most talented artist and creators in the world. The flip side of it is our artist here lack guidance. It’s almost like the blind leading the blind. Being back on the road with Xeno allows me to watch new artist from all over. Not saying they are doper than us but they take pride in their craft a lot more. They are on time for sound checks, they have merch tables setup, bring thy own equipment ( even if it’s just a mic). Those small things can get a average artist farther than a really good artist. All about your preparation.

Yoey: So, What gave you the idea to start your Major joose brand? And why was it important for you to make it a healthy drink as oppose to say like a soda or sugary drink?

Mook: Creating a beverage was something I’ve always wanted to do. Following the path of guys in my eyes that I view as Greats (Dame, Puff, Jay) they all tap into the beverage lane. The two years I took off from Music is when my partner Huey Joose Moss n I create Major Joose. Alcohol is everywhere. Too many brands to battle plus in 2018 the coolest thing to be in the world is healthy,   (everyone is preaching health). I knew if we could get the taste right, I’ll take care of building the brand name. It’s a 100% fruit juice with no added sugar, water or subs. It’s geared towards energy and weight loss. Health is Wealth.
