Sneaker collecting is not frowned upon these days, and on the contrary, it almost commands the same respect as collecting vinyl or toys. In many ways, everyone owned at least one pair of sneakers in their lifetime, linking each one of us with this specific footwear genre. Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto is holding an exhibition titled, Out of the Box: The Ride of Sneaker Culture, currently in their spacious museum. It chronicles the start of sneakers, as well as the classics silhouettes from major athletic brands, alongside recent sneaker designs from fashion labels. Whether you are into vintage, athletic, or fashion sneakers, this exhibit encompasses the sneaker phenomenon in the broadest sense.
