Harman has unveiled its new Infinity Reference Series of loudspeakers, winners of the iF Product Design Award for 2014. And while the aeronautical-based design is always an attractive selling point, the main draw here is the state of the art audio, propelled by Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm cone technology and Harman’s most advanced waveguide to date. The goods comprise 2-way bookshelf models, 3-way floorstanding models, center channel models, on-wall surround speaker, and powered subwoofers. The beating heart in the Infinity Reference Series family is the proprietary CMMD (Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm) transducer technology, which uses a durable ceramic surface and aluminum cones to yield an ideal stiffness to weight ratio.
