I’m on a never-ending quest to become my most beautiful self, so I decided to go all-natural. I am now a proud user of all natural hair and skin care products. Despite some of the changes that I made to improve my appearance, I still look in the mirror and often times see that something is missing. I look into the mirror and see that my hair is still dull or that my skin is not as radiant as I would like it to be.
After speaking with one of my best friends who happens to be a nutritionist, I realized what I should have known all along. True beauty comes from within. I know this may sound cliché, but roll with me on this one guys. We focus so much on what we put on our bodies, ie body creams to soften the skin and hair masks to strengthen the hair; however, we neglect what we put inside our bodies.
A healthy diet is the most important way to solve life’s every problem, from health to beauty issues. To truly maintain the essence of beauty, we must focus on living a healthy lifestyle.
My friend encouraged me to watch the documentary “fat, sick and nearly dead”. This documentary is an illustration of how healthy eating habits really encourage good health and good looks.
Joe Cross is an Australian entrepreneur who was suffering from a rare autoimmune disease, which made him have to take a ton of oral steroids daily to prevent body swells and rashes; on top of that he was 100 pounds overweight. Joe, tired of his condition, decided to embark on a mission to leave the meds and mass behind him, he documented his journey on film.
Joe’s idea was simple, the body has the ability to heal itself, but if we don’t fuel the body properly we hinder the body from doing what it does naturally. Our diet is the single most important way we can help our bodies maintain a plateau of health and wellness.
The human body needs about 50% of fruits and vegetables a day to function properly, most Americans eat about 5%, sometimes less. Joe had an idea to incorporate 100% of fruits and vegetables into his diet. He came to the U.S. and went on a road trip talking to people about healthy eating and healthy living along the way. He is on the road with a juicer, in which he is juicing fruits and vegetables and only consuming that on a daily basis, he calls this, a juice fast. His idea is to cleanse the body of all the atrocious things he has put into it and start a new healthy eating regimen 60 days later.
Joe meets a few people along the way, one of which he encourages to take on the same challenge he has embarked upon. Phil Staples, also begins a healthy lifestyle journey, which begins with a 60-day juice fast.
The results are amazing, at the end of the documentary Joe is medicine free, 100 lbs. lighter and he looks 10 years younger. Phil, is 202 lbs. lighter, and also medication free.
After having watched the documentary, I goggled some reviews of the fast to see what the people who have done it seem to think of their results. People all over the U.S. and abroad have experienced a plethora of health and beauty benefits with juicing. Most people have reported higher energy levels, less headaches, better moods, an improvement of acne and complexion, some even saw a difference in the health of their hair.
With that being said, I plan to start a juicing regimen! I am really excited about the health and beauty benefits of living a healthier lifestyle, and I want you to join me!
