The #HellofaLifeCrew are huge fans of a great margarita..so I ran across this post check it out maybe you try something new this weekend?

Today’s Nest has come up with a perfect way to spice up your margarita experience and with Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner, what a great way to kick off the celebration.  The Jalapeno Cilantro Margarita takes the drink back its non slushy roots and adds a fresh twist.  The recipes starts with:

  • ½ oz cilantro simple syrup
  • juice of 1 small lime (1oz)
  • 1oz Blanco tequila
  • 1 oz Reposado tequila
  • fresh jalapeño strips
  • ice

To make the cilantro simple syrup, bring 1 cup of water and 1 cup sugar to a slow boil adding one cup of cilantro as the mixture comes to a boil.  Lower heat and simmer for 5-10 min. Refrigerate remaining portion.

Fill cocktail shaker with ice along with the remaining ingredients, then shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Next, empty entire contents of shaker into lowball glass and garnish with a half lime boat, two jalapeno strips and then savor…ahhhh!
