Jana Picks best fashion Spring Trends 2012

Spring is here! The trends this season are absolutely fabulous, but it can sometimes be hard to keep up with the trends without feeling a little foolish. So here are my top picks of the Spring trends, and ways to wear them without being as over the top as the runway looks.

COLOR BLOCKING: Color blocking is going to be HUGE this spring. It was in last year, but this spring is the year like never before. The colors are bold and bright think mustard and coral. Mint green was also huge on the runway this season. Color blocking is a way take a simple outfit to the next level.

TIP: Stay in the same color family. If your a little scared to try this look for fear of looking like a clown, start small. For example, wear a teal dress and accessorize it with coral jewelry, and a coral clutch with nude pumps. It’s simple but still trendy! Or try layering a leotard with a different color sheer shirt, again it’s simple but just enough to give your outfit some umph!

BOLD PRINTS:  Bold prints are in too! This is SO fun and daring and I love it! I would layer a printed blazer with a simple solid dress or a solid jumpsuit. Again, a way to honor the trend without being too crazy.

TIP: Try not to wear prints together, your print is the main focus so keep everything else fairly simple. Let your print speak for itself. Printed leggings and jeans are everywhere, layering them with a simple solid top will bring your outfit LIFE!

METALLICS: This trend has actually been around for sometime, but I think it will hit big this spring. Metallics can be tricky, but the way to do it and not be too over the top is to layer them. For example if you buy some metallic hot shorts from American Apperal put a sheer maxi skirt over them. That way, you’ll look bold without being risqué.

Those are my top picks for spring trends in 2012! Add a couple pieces from each trend to make your wardrobe fabulous!
