The momentum from KAWS‘ success in the latter half of the 2013 – dotted by an appearance on the cover of Paper and a show at Mary Boone Gallery – has taken the artist beyond domestic bounds. The New York-based artist will now showcase his work in Málaga, Spain, opening the “Final Days” exhibition at the Centro De Arte Contemporáneo De Málaga (CAC de Málaga) – his first solo museum show outside of the U.S. The exhibition will highlight KAWS’ large wooden “Companion” figures, some as large as 19 feet, each articulated to convey a range of human emotions. If in the area, be sure to check out “Final Days” at the CAC de Málaga, showing until June 22. Head here for more information on the show.
