LoLux Beauty of New Orleans La, is the latest hair and beauty salon to open up shop in the Crescent City. From makeup, to wig-making, and everything in between, owner/operator Raeisha Johnson is gearing up for a series of Pop-up shops in her hometown of Leesville, La. We had a chance to sit with Raeisha before her next up-coming event.

Can you tell us how excited you are to be operating Lo Lux Beauty from New Orleans, La?
I came from a smaller town in rural Louisiana, so I’m very excited to move the “big city” and expand, network, and grow! I’m adjusting to the fast-paced living but I’m embracing everything!

Tell us more about your Lo Lux Beauty Brand.
Lo lux Beauty offers luxury services at affordable prices. I want all of my clients to have a real celebrity experience that enables them to feel beautiful from the inside out.

What are some things you have in store for the immediate future?
Growing my pop up shop series, evolving into a full services salon and developing Lo Lux Bridal which is a completely different service package. The Bride would hire me and my team to pamper and glam them up and have her ready to walk down the aisle with elegance.

Who are some stylist, boutiques, and products you admire in the Hair Industry?
I don’t really like to pay attention to too many other stylists; I want to maintain focus and not get distracted. But if I had to pick, I admire what Dionte Gray is doing in Atlanta and of course my mother, who is a hairstylist as well, and has been my inspiration since I began my career.

I love using ORS Haircare Lace products. Their products are most ideal for making wigs. My demand for wig-making has skyrocketed most recently, and they are producing very reliable product

What’s your current perception of the Hair Industry in New Orleans?
What I’ve noticed is currently the hair culture is very colorful and fun. I’ve done a wide variety of styles ranging from blue bob wigs, to jet black 24 inch bundles! I really love that clients are free and expressive. It keeps stylists like myself on our toes and allows us to get more and more creative.
