Fly Pelicans!!!
Monty Williams has to be thrilled with his team’s start to the preseason. Three consecutive road wins lead by Anthony Davis and plus 23 margin in turnovers. The young Pelicans have played nail bitters in every contest but have came away with victories due to steady free throw shooting and ball protection. New Orleans will only play one home preseason game (against Miami) so this is a good test for the growing group.
Missing Tyreke Evans and Eric Gordon makes this start even more impressive. Jrue Holiday has to protect the ball better but is bringing a nice pace to the offense and is averaging 6 assist a game. Anthony Morrow has been a pleasant scoring option and Brian Roberts appears to be growing as a scorer. Anthony Davis has averaged 25 points a game and been a constant on the boards.
West will be easy no doubt
