Myhellofalife.Com got a chance to ask Ariee Jackson a few questions about her upcoming tour with High School Nation starting in October.
MHOL: How were you selected to take place in the high school nation tour?
Ariee: HSN (High School Nation) selected me for the fall tour after coming across my ReverbNation page. They expressed that they were big fans of my music and impressed with everything I have accomplished thus far. They invited me to participate on the tour and I couldn’t be more excited to hit the road.
MHOL: Why is it so important to you to make you’re self available to a program geared towards helping kids with having musical education in the schools?
Ariee: It’s important to me to give back to music education because it was done for me when I was younger. By having access to nonprofit arts programs, I got a taste of creating and performing live, which had a huge influence on me as an artist. It’s the reason I am a musician today. It is a personal mission of mine to give back and keep the arts alive for many generations. We need music. We need art.
MHOL: What do you hope to take with you out of this experience?
Ariee: I hope to reach as many people as I can with my music. I want to meet new people, other artists, and grow my fan base, all while giving back. It’s a win-win.
MHOL: Im assuming you will be performing tracks from you’re recent EP 8 how excited are you to present this music to a youthful crowd?
Ariee: I can’t wait to share my music. Connecting with people is the motivation behind everything I do. I work hard and consistently to create music and run the business side of things. The reward is connecting with the youth. For me, it’s what it’s all about.
MHOL: Can you explain why this EP is named “8”?
Ariee: I named my E.P. 8 after the eight years I have been performing professionally leading up to my first project. The number embodies my growth over the last eight years as a person and an artist. I started writing my music for this project in August (the eighth month). I’m super into numerology and my life number is 8, so it just all came together and manifested that way. It just fit!
