An unnamed pizza restaurant is planned for an abandoned building across from Cochon and the Ugly Dog Saloon, reports City Business (subscription required).

The new construction at 404 Andrew Higgins Drive, at one time part of the Pelican Ice House and Cold Storage Co., still must be approved by the Historic District Landmarks Commission.

The plans call for restoring the building’s brick facade and adding a wood-fired oven, a bar and an outdoor patio.

Dixie Mill Supply Co. owns the property, according to public records. VIA NOLA.com
