Rag-Bone-Resort-2015-Collection-4Without undermining resort’s chief tenets of buy-now-wear-now commerciality, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright used the season to pursue territory yet unchartered for Rag & Bone: leopard prints. “We’ve never done an animal print before,” said Wainwright. “It’s fun to explore those things that are not obviously Rag & Bone.” The motif came in three ways, all of them very wearable: gray-and-white chunky knits, a printed pony hair jacket and a snow leopard pattern on a chic, slim silk dress with a slit open back styled with slip-on sneakers. In their quest to push beyond tailored bestsellers, the designers also put an emphasis on pink, “a very girly color done in not-girly pieces,” said Wainwright, of the robust tailored moleskin coat and a boxy “jean” jacket done in pink suede.
