I checked out one of the newest additions to New Orleans’ unique burger joints, Charcoal’s Gourmet Burger Bar on Magazine St. In a family friendly atmosphere Charcoal lets you build your own burger in 6 easy steps! You have your choice of different meats cheeses, buns and toppings.

I tried the Bison burger on their house bun with 1 year yellow cheddar, tomato, vidalia onions, praline bacon shredded iceberg lettuce ketchup and mustard.  My thoughts as for the burger, it could’ve been better. The bread was a bit thick and the meat could have been seasoned better, but the ingredients were fresh. However I was really impressed by the presentation.  Fries and onion rings are served in a basket and you drink out of glass jars! (The place could use some TV’s though) Overall I give this restaurant a C+.
