The sun shining down. Sweat glistening. High fives. So many high fives. Yes, it’s beach volleyball, only the best sport ever invented to play while wearing jean shorts. And New Orleans has a new home for the sport — White Sands Volleyball Courts, a 10 minute drive away at the Causeway exit .

To celebrate the grand opening, White Sands is having a big kickoff party on Saturday, June 14th at 7 p.m. There will be drinks, beach volleyball (duh) and a ribbon-cutting for six brand new courts they’re opening. Short of driving to Florida, there’s no better way to feel the sand between your toes and the slap of a high five after a totally sweet spike.

White Sands is also offering free beach volleyball clinic all this week before their summer leagues kick off, so show up any night at 7 p.m. to learn the fundamentals and have some fun. For players who know the game, registration is now open for their summer leagues, and with the six new courts and a fully-stocked bar, there’s no better place to have fun, work on your tan, have a drink, and play a super, super fun sport.
